Just purchased a new Kubota tractor. No more walking behind the brush cutter to mow the field.

My grandmother’s cousin used a mule plow up there in sharps chapel (close to what is now near entrance to sunset bay.) refused to buy a tractor well into 70′s and 80′s. Said mule had done ok for him. Enjoy your tractor! Enjoy cutting those wonderful historic hills.
Ben, I can’t thank you enough for sharing a little bit about your family’s history at Sharps Chapel. Do you live in the Chapel?
There is something to be said for tradition. Yes, it might have taken longer, but I read in a recent book called “The Dirty Life”, about a young couple doing organic farming with a team of draft horses, that the time spent behind the horses was much more valuable than time spent on a tractor. In a way, your grandmother’s cousin was pretty lucky.
